Bio:

Christopher O. Kidder resides in Chicago, Illinois, where he is the Artistic Director of Commedia Beauregard, an independent professional theatre company that produces translated works. He founded the company in Saint Paul, Minnesota in 1999.

Christopher has a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Theatre Arts from Morningside College in Sioux City, IA, and a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Creative Writing: Playwriting from the University of New Orleans.

Christopher's plays have been seen in Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, California, and New York. His holiday play "A Klingon Christmas Carol" has received regional, national and international attention and acclaim.

Christopher made his directing debut in 1990 for the Brainerd Teen Theater Company, which he founded in Brainerd, Minnesota. He has since directed over 40 productions.

As a translator of Spanish dramatic literature, Christopher has spent time living in Madrid, Spain. He has translated works by Leandro Fernandez de Moratin and Enrique Zumel. Additionally, he has translated Niccolo Machiavelli's The Mandrake (from Italian).

While he no longer writes as a theatre critic, Christopher was a reviewer for the Minnesota Fringe Festival, CityPages.com, and Secrets of the City (all in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis & Saint Paul, MN).

Christopher has one daughter who is his inspiration in many, many ways.
